Italian Baked Casserole

Need to feed a large party with a simple recipe? You've come to the right place!



  • 4 cups uncooked pasta

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 2 Ibs lean ground beef

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 jar (24-ounces) of spaghetti sauce

  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced, undrained tomatoes

  • 2-3 plum tomatoes, sliced

  • 2 cups of shredded cheese

How to:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° and begin cooking the pasta based on the directions on the box. I suggest under cooking the pasta so that as you combine the rest of the ingredients, the pasta will absorb some of the flavor.

Step 2

In a large skillet, sweat onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another 3 minutes. Stir in meat and cook until no longer pink. Season with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning before adding the pasta sauce and diced tomatoes.

Step 3

In large (13" x 9") non-greased casserole dish, pour enough pasta sauce to cover the bottom. Add pasta and the rest of the sauce, then mix lightly. Decorate with sliced tomatoes and cheese.

You can then bake for 25-30 minutes until gooey and hot OR cover with foil and keep in fridge overnight for easy party prep the next day.
